Frequently Asked Questions/Knowledge Base
IF THERE IS NO ALCOHOL, HOW DOES HYDRO-E KILL BACTERIA, AND GERMS?
When our bodies are invaded by harmful bacteria or organisms, our body produces a natural enzyme known as Hypochlorous Acid (HOCL), which targets and kills these foreign invaders. The purpose of HOCL is to disinfect and sanitise our bodies.
With our patented state of the art technology, we have replicated this bodily process to produce our product "Hydro-E", which is 99.9% effective at killing germs and bacteria.
Not only is Hydro-E effective (if not better than others on the market), it is safer and non corrosive on our skin.
ISN’T ACID ALSO DANGEROUS?
In high concentrations, acid is a corrosive substance, however with the Hydro-E HOCL solution, the concentration is only between 30ppm to 80ppm (parts per million).
Hydro-E is made up of more than 99% distilled water and less than 0.89~0.95% HCL (compared to 75% alcohol in most sanitisers) and carries a neutral pH rating of 6.5. Hydro-E is classified as a non-hazardous substance (non-corrosive, non-toxic, non-flammable).
HOW IS Hydro-E SANITISER DIFFERENT TO ALCOHOL SANITISERS, AND WHY SHOULD I CARE?
When you apply alcohol to a substance or surface, it eats away at everything without prejudice, meaning that it may not just attack the bacteria, but it will also corrode our skin or whatever surface it is applied to.
Hydro-E on the other hand replicates the natural enzyme in our white blood cells that specifically seek out and eliminate bacteria and fungi. Since HOCL liquid is more than 99% Electrolyzed water, it is non corrosive.
I HAVE ALLERGIES, CAN I USE Hydro-E HOCL?
Yes, you can. HOCL is a naturally occurring enzyme of our body’s immune system (within the white blood cells). HOCL is one of the building blocks of the human body. It would be hard to be allergic to a substance that our bodies already produce!
CAN I USE Hydro-E HOCL ON SURFACES?
Yes, Hydro-E HOCL is listed as Hospital Grade Disinfectant and Antibacterial.
The advantage Hydro-E has is that it has a pH level of 6.5, meaning it won't eat away at t fabric, or hard surfaces the way bleach and alcohol do.
WHAT CERTIFICATIONS DOES HYDRO-E HOCL HOLD?
In Australia, Hydro-E Holds:
- ARTG, 335971: Hydro-E Hospital Grade Disinfectant
Internationally Hydro-E has over 7 recognised certifications and approvals. Contact us to obtain these.
WHY HAVEN’T I HEARD ABOUT HOCL BEFORE?
HOCL has been around for approximately 200 years and was developed by Michael Faraday (1830). Whilst being a far superior sanitiser and steriliser than others that were around at the time, there were some issues with the product.
- Concentrations were inconsistent
- The active HOCL produced only lasted up to 90 minutes
- Because of the above, HOCL was expensive to make since it couldn’t be stored
Hydro-E have circumvented these issues with our scientific patented method, and we were able to produce long-life HOCL fluid that retains consistency, potency and shelf life.
Although HOCL is extremely popular in Japan and Korea, and was used in the covid pandemic, HOCL has only very recently made its way to Australia, and the western world.
The other reason why it is still rather unknown locally is due to a lack of awareness and preference to alcohol and bleach in lieu of alternatives.
HOW IS HYDRO-E BETTER THAN TYPICAL HOCL?
Hydro-E is the holder of the patented technology that fortifies the bonding process between HOCL and water. With our patented method, HOCL liquid has consistent ppm and lasts at least 12 months after being manufactured.
WHAT APPLICATION(S) IS HYDRO-E HOCL CERTIFIED FOR?
In Australia, it is listed as:
- Hospital-grade disinfectant
Internationally, the same product has applications that include (but aren’t limited to):
- Food processing – Sanitising station of meat processing
- Agriculture – direct application to crops and plantations (pH 6.5)
- Industrial coolant – non-corrosive and causes little to no rust
- Water Treatment
- Odour Eater
IF HOCL IS THAT GOOD, WHY ISN’T IT USED MORE?
HOCL liquid as a sanitiser is still new to the world and is even newer still to the Australian marketplace. However, in Korea (where the patent comes from) it is the preferred sanitiser and disinfectant which is used on both a commercial and domestic scale. The use and application of HOCL in Korea was a key factor in its ability to reduce the effect of the pandemic in 2020 so effectively it enabled them to still hold sporting events and allowed their citizens to move about while much of the rest of the world was in lockdown.
WHERE CAN I PURCHASE HYDRO-E HOCL?
Presently, the only mainstream supply available is via our website, however, we are in regular discussions relating to wholesale opportunities with retailers.
